ON MARCH 3, 2020, 'STOP THE SPREAD' HIT THE STREETS OF TORONTO

‘STOP THE SPREAD OF RACISM’ branded hand sanitizers were given out in crowded public spaces to raise awareness around discrimination circling COVID-19. Word spread quickly around the city, province, and country, as news outlets covered the story throughout the day, and many Torontonians shared the initiative on social.

How would you stop the spread of racism?

Every once in a while, racism rears its ugly head, we need your input on how to get rid of it for good.

SKIN COLOR IS NOT A SYMPTOM

Discrimination is already present in our society. Coupled with fear and anxiety around COVID-19, that discrimination begins to expose itself. Stigma creates more fear and anger towards human beings instead of the virus causing the problem. You can help stop the spread of racism. Speak up to take a stand when you see or experience acts of racism.

FOLLOW THE FACTS, NOT FEAR

COVID-19 is no joke. It is most commonly spread through respiratory droplets via coughing or sneezing, or from getting the virus on your hands and touching your mouth, nose, or eyes, NOT through contact with people of a particular ethnicity.
